- Advent Of Code - A coding challenge done every year in December with a new task every day and increasing difficulty.
- Project Euler - A series of increasingly hard maths problems that can only be solved using programming knowledge.
- Python Challenges (Christ Church College, Oxford) - A series of questions designed to stretch year 12 students’ knowledge beyond their school curriculum.
- BBC Micro:bit - A mini computer (the school already has access to) that can be used for a series of different mini projects that relate to and go beyond the specification.
- Royal Institution Masterclasses - masterclasses in maths, engineering and CS.
- Cyber Discovery - an extracurricular cyber security learning programme for Y10–13 students from across England.
- LeetCode - an online platform for coding interview preparation whice provides coding and algorithmic problems intended for users to practice coding.
Competitions
National competitions that students can get involved with.
- The British Informatics Olympiad (winter) - national competition in computing for schools and colleges.
- UK Bebras (4th - 15th November 2024) - competition that introduces computational thinking to students. Each participant has 45 minutes to tackle a series of interactive tasks, designed to encourage logical thinking and problem-solving skills appropriate for their age group.
